Trade Proposal Has Dolphins Trading up in the Draft With 49ers

Over the next month, there will be much speculation on teams projected to make trades during the 2025 NFL Draft.

The Miami Dolphins need help at several key positions to contend for an AFC East Divisional title. Many players can help the Dolphins, but only a few players the team believes can contribute.

In a trade proposal from Sporting News' Aaliyan Mohammed, the San Francisco 49ers look to acquire more picks to repair their depleted roster from free agency. Mohammed has the 49ers trading pick No. 11 to the Dolphins in exchange for picks No. 13 and No. 116 in the fourth round. This move would get the 49ers linebacker, Jihaad Campbell.

The Dolphins would trade their first-round pick and one of their two fourth picks to go up two spots. There are several areas where the Dolphins would select at pick No. 11.

The only realistic reason why Miami would trade with San Francisco to move up two spots is to get ahead of the Dallas Cowboys or a team they make a trade with for pick No. 12. The Dolphins would likely snipe the player that the Cowboys would be interested in.

The Dolphins could go for an offensive tackle like Texas' Kelvin Banks Jr. or Missouri's Armand Membou if he were to slip that far. The Dolphins could also select a key wide receiver like Tetairoa McMillian if Tyreek Hill is still considering being traded out of Miami.

The Dolphins could go for a real shocker and select Doak Walker Award-winning running back Ashton Jeanty. He would be the instant first-string running back and a star in head coach Mike McDaniel's offense.
