Highly-rated Newcastle United forward Lumsden signs new deal

Newcastle United’s highly-rated forward Beth Lumsden has signed a new contract with the club.

The Magpies announced the news via a post on their official club website this evening.

The 25-year-old joined Newcastle United from Portsmouth in the January 2024 transfer window. She helped the club to win promotion to the Barclays Women’s Championship before impressing in The Magpies’ debut campaign in the second tier. Lumsden has netted five goals in 12 outings in the Barclays Women’s Championship this season.

Lumsden has been a stand-out player for Newcastle United this term and the club have moved to retain her services for an extended period.

After signing on again with the Tynesiders, Lumsden said “I’m very excited to extend my stay with this fantastic football club which is going in the right direction. I’m glad to be a part of this journey.

“I love the area as well as the football club and I want to carry on succeeding with Newcastle United.

“I think we are destined for big things and my goals certainly match those of the club which is to be playing in the Women’s Super League.”

Lumsden is the second player to sign a new deal with Newcastle United this week. Defender Lia Cataldo has also extended her stay with the club.
