While the Golden State Warriors might have secured a victory on Thursday night, they were struck with bad news as Stephen Curry had to exit the contest with a pelvic injury.
Still, Steve Kerr's squad squeaked out a 117-114 win over the Toronto Raptors.
Advancing to a 41-29 record, the Warriors have won nine of their past ten contests as they remain the No. 6 seed in the Western Conference.
Jimmy Butler's arrival at the trade deadline was much-needed, though Golden State needs to maintain their form -- which gets much more difficult if Curry is sidelined.
While the superstar guard wanted to return to the contest against the Raptors, Kerr said the team opted to sit him and have him prepare for testing.
Curry has been playing at a near-MVP level since Butler's arrival, and he's crucial in helping the club achieve whatever their ceiling might be this year.
The injury comes at a bad time, though Curry got a critical update on Friday, which hints at how long he might be sidelined.

Warriors make Curry announcement after injury
On Friday, Golden State provided a detailed update on Curry's injury, which will hold him out of the team's upcoming road contest.
"Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry, who exited last night's game against the Toronto Raptors with 3:24 remaining in the third quarter after falling to the floor, underwent an MRI last night," Warriors PR shared. "The MRI indicated that Curry suffered a pelvic contusion, but no structural damage. He will not travel with the team to Atlanta this morning and will not play in tomorrow night's game against the Hawks. He will be re-evaluated on Monday."
Essentially, Curry will miss the Warriors' upcoming game and get the weekend off in the Bay Area to get healthy -- which also comes with a massive mental benefit.
The superstar guard can further prepare for the playoffs mentally and emotionally with a couple of nights off while the team continues its remarkable push late in the regular season.
