Liverpool are thought to be preparing a huge £100m offer for a "special" player in the summer transfer window, should Mohamed Salah decide to leave the club.
A busy summer of transfers needed at Liverpool
The Reds have been relatively frugal when it comes to transfers in recent years, so much so that owners FSG have been criticised by some. Their argument could be that the squad is already extremely strong, but big changes are needed once this season comes to an end.
There could be some high-profile exits, with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah among them, while top players have been linked with moves to Liverpool, including Chelsea centre-back Levi Colwill. The England international has been seen as a target in the past, and the Merseysiders' interest doesn't appear to have gone away.

A new left-back is definitely needed for the Reds, even though Andy Robertson can continue to be a good squad player, and Bournemouth's Milos Kerkez is arguably the front-runner to come in this summer. The 21-year-old has enjoyed an outstanding season for the Cherries, helping them push for Champions League football.
Ipswich Town striker Liam Delap has also been backed to join Liverpool before the beginning of next season, as they look to pip Chelsea to the Englishman's signature.
Liverpool planning £100m offer for Real Madrid star
According to a report from Spain, Liverpool are planning a £100m bid for Real Madrid forward Rodrygo, seeing him as a great option to replace Salah, should he move on at the end of the season.
They want to convince the La Liga giants to let one of their best attacking players go, but it is noted that the Brazilian is "not considering a change of scenery", appearing to be happy at his current club.

Ideally, Salah will sign a new deal with Liverpool and remain at the club for the foreseeable future, but if he does leave, Rodrygo would be a magnificent successor.
While the 24-year-old may not always earn as many headlines as Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr, he is a top-level player in his own right, scoring five goals in the Champions League this season and being hailed by Carlo Ancelotti in the past:
"He is a special striker, he can play in all positions. He is fast, smart and effective one on one. The learning is over. He is a Real Madrid player for all purposes."

Liverpool's youth scene is replete with potential - and this talent's the cream of the crop.
It does sound as though Rodrygo sees his future at Madrid, however, which is no great surprise, so for Liverpool, it should be a case of them doing everything they can to ensure that Salah signs a new contract in the next few months.
