Steph Curry Receives Major Injury Update Ahead of Warriors’ Road Trip

Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry received both good and bad news about his pelvic injury suffered against the Toronto Raptors on Friday. Curry is expected to miss time after an MRI revealed a pelvic contusion, according to a new report from ESPN's Shams Charania, but there is no structural damage.

The Athletic's Anthony Slater also reported that Curry will not travel to Atlanta ahead of Golden State's matchup with the Hawks on Saturday.

The game against Atlanta begins a six-game road trip that also features games against the Miami Heat, New Orleans Pelicans, San Antonio Spurs, Memphis Grizzlies, and Los Angeles Lakers.

Curry will be re-evaluated on Monday ahead of Tuesday's game against Miami, leaving open the possibility of a short absence. He suffered the injury after going down hard under the hoop after two Toronto players, Jonathan Mogbo and Colin Castleton, both collided with him in the air.

No foul was called and play continued momentarily as Curry was able to kick the ball out to Jonathan Kuminga for a three-point attempt before landing on his backside.

Curry exited the game after scoring 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting from the floor in 25 minutes. He did not return. It was the first time in two months that Curry logged fewer than 29 minutes in a game.

Golden State currently sits in sixth place in the Western Conference, two games back of fifth-place Memphis and 1.5 games ahead of the Los Angeles Clippers and Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Warriors will hope to get their star guard back as soon as possible to avoid slipping in the standings. Securing a spot in the top six is necessary to avoid having to play in the play-in tournament.
