OKC Thunder and staff participate in Regional Food Bank

LAWTON, Okla. (KSWO) - The OKC Thunder aren’t just winning on the court, but they’re helping others off the court as well.

Usually, teams are making a strong push at the end of the season to secure their seeding, but the Thunder have secured their seeding and are the divisional champs. so that worry tends to be less.

Thursday, the Oklahoma City Thunder and G-League affiliate - OKC Blue, coaches, and staff came together to volunteer at the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City.

The Regional Food Bank they participated in, is an act under their All-Hands-on Deck service project. Regional Food Bank is dedicated to providing food to Oklahomans experiencing food insecurity, they serve over 53 counties in Western and Central Oklahoma.

Players, coaches, and staff helped to sorted, packed, and prepared food packages for clients.

the Players and Staff packed more than 32,000 pounds of food for a total of 27,000 meals.
