The FA have handed Matheus Cunha an additional one-game ban following his sending off against Bournemouth last month.
Cunha was shown a straight red card by referee Chris Kavanagh during February’s FA Cup fifth-round tie away to Bournemouth.
Cunha was handed an automatic three-game ban but his suspension has been increased after the FA confirmed they’ve taken retrospective action.
Not only will the Brazilian miss his side’s next game against West Ham (Apr 1), but he will also miss their upcoming away fixture against Ipswich Town (Apr 5).
It might not be a bad thing though…

Ipswich will have to wait to get their revenge on Matheus Cunha
The FA’s decision to increase Cunha’s ban means the forward will not return until Wolves’ Premier League game against Spurs (Apr 13).
The fact the South American will miss his side’s away trip to Portman Road will be a good thing though.
Gary O’Neil’s final game in charge in December saw the Old Gold suffer a 2-1 home defeat to Kieran McKenna’s Tractor Boys. The shock result was marred by some unsavoury scenes that unfolded after the final whistle.
MORE WOLVES STORIES
Cunha clashed with a member of Ipswich’s security staff and was shown a red card. The ban was subsequently downgraded to two games after Cunha offered to replace the staff member’s broken glasses.
And although the dust has now settled, next month’s reverse fixture offered the Tractor Boys their chance to get one back on Wolves’ number 10.
The FA’s recent decision means the Premier League new boys won’t be able to get their revenge though.
Not the end of the world
Wolves’ recent 2-1 win over Southampton means they have increased the gap between them and the bottom sides to nine points, so Cunha’s absence shouldn’t make or break their season.
Of course, lessons must still be learned following the striker’s four-game ban, but by the time he returns, Wolves will still have seven games to play:
Apr 13: Wolves vs Spurs
Apr 20: Man Utd vs Wolves
Apr 26: Wolves vs Leicester
May 3: Man City vs Wolves
May 10: Wolves vs Brighton
May 18: Crystal Palace vs Wolves
May 25: Wolves vs Brentford
With two-and-a-half months left in the campaign by the time he returns, there will still be plenty of time for Cunha, who is linked with joining Arsenal, to remind the league why is he the next big thing.
