Manchester United and Everton could be involved in a big money transfer deal this summer

Manchester United have the chance to freshen up their ranks this summer as they look ahead to their first full season under the guidance of Ruben Amorim. It is no secret that they have under-performed in this campaign and will be hoping for much better next time around.

Amorim was picked as their replacement for Erik ten Hag after catching the eye in Portugal at Sporting Lisbon. He endured a mixed start in terms of results at Old Trafford but his side have started to hit some form now.

As for Everton, they brought back David Moyes earlier this winter. The former United and West Ham man came in after Sean Dyche was given the sack and he has since done a great job.

The Toffees have managed to pull themselves away from danger in the Premier League since his return. They can now keep one eye on their recruitment for later this year as they look to bring in some more quality.

Manchester United target Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite

United will go ‘all out’ to land Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite in the next window, according to The Sun. They were keen on him last year but weren’t able to get a deal down in the end. Amorim could see the Carlisle-born man as someone to boost his defensive department. If they managed to get him, he would strengthen their back line and give them something different to the likes of Harry Maguire, Leny Yoro and Lisandro Martinez.

Branthwaite has a lot of potential and at the age of 22, still has plenty of time on his side. He would be an ideal long-term acquisition for the Red Devils as they look to compete higher up the table in the next campaign.

He rose up through the academy ranks at Carlisle United and was a regular for them at various different youth levels before breaking into the first-team. Everton scouted him after he played 14 games for the Cumbrians and subsequently snapped him up in 2019.

The centre-back initially had to bide his time for his opportunity with the Toffees and was loaned out to Blackburn Rovers and PSV to get some experience under his belt. He then broke into the first-team at Goodison Park and hasn’t looked back since. Branthwaite has made 78 appearances in all competitions for his current club and has chipped in with four goals. However, they will face a battle to keep hold of.

Manchester United should use Jadon Sancho as part of Everton swap deal

Jadon Sancho’s career is at a bit of a crossroads right now and he could do with a change of scene. He could be a perfect addition for Everton as they gear up for their exciting new era.

They will want top quality players to play in their new stadium and the Londoner is someone who needs a platform to show what he can do. His time with United has turned stale, hence why is out on loan at Chelsea right now, and he needs to go somewhere next where he plays every week.

The Red Devils should try and tempt the Toffees into cashing in on Branthwaite by offering Sancho as part of a deal. He would give Moyes another option going forward and more pace and power on the break.

He joined United back in 2021 after he impressed over in Germany with Borussia Dortmund. The ex-Watford and Manchester City academy man has scored 12 goals in 83 matches and is due to return when his stay with Chelsea expires with Enzo Maresca’s side unwilling to sign him permanently, as per i News.
