Pittsburgh Steelers’ first round pick target turns heads at Michigan Pro Day

Potential Pittsburgh Steelers first round pick Kenneth Grant put on a show at Michigan Pro Day. Grant, who performed in front of a horde of defensive talent evaluators, tested quite well after missing the NFL Combine with a hamstring injury.

Grant ran a 5.11 40-yard dash, had a 31-inch vertical, 8-foot-9-inch broad jump, and 27 bench reps at 330 pounds. He had played up near 340 pounds, but many teams seem to want him to play around 330 pounds, which will give him the versatility to play nose tackle and 3-technique.

Grant is likely the top prospect for the Steelers at this time, especially because they almost entirely skipped out on looking at Oregon’s Derrick Harmon.

Grant is currently projected to go in the 20s, which would be right around when the Steelers pick at 21st overall. With comments from head coach Mike Tomlin and team president Art Rooney II about how much the run defense boosts they can get matters, Grant might be the type of pick for the Steelers.
