Former NFL Star Sends Strong Message to Najee Harris About Steelers Shade

The Pittsburgh Steelers will have a major change in the backfield during the 2025 NFL season. Najee Harris will not be featured at running back, as he chose to leave town and sign with the Los Angeles Chargers in NFL free agency.

Harris landed a one-year, $5.25 million contract with the Chargers.

Following his decision to sign with Los Angeles, Harris took a parting shot at the Steelers. He clearly was not a fan of the way the roster was set up and a lack of development and learning.

"It was just a team where we lost Ben [Roethlisberger], we lost the O-line, we just didn't know anything on offense really, we didn't have any identity," Harris said. "We had a young guy coming in at QB. I was young. The team was young. I really didn't have nobody to almost learn from on the offensive side. I think the veteran guy on that team was a two, three-year vet. And he's still learning himself."

One of the former player who didn't like the comments was linebacker Bart Scott.

Scott played for the Baltimore Ravens and New York Jets throughout his NFL career. He took some time to issue a strong message with a warning to Harris during a segment on "Get Up."

"You ungrateful dude," Scott said. "How fortunate is it for you to be in the playoffs every year of your career? That doesn't just happen. And when he leaves, sometimes you realize how good you had it."

During his tenure with Pittsburgh, Harris found a lot of success. He played in four season with the Steelers, playing in a total of 68 games.

In those 68 games, Harris carried the football 1,097 times for 4,312 yards and 28 touchdowns. He averaged 3.9 yards per carry. Harris also caught 180 passes for 1,149 yards and six touchdowns.
