The Tennessee Titans made an unexpected decision earlier this month when they traded linebacker Kenneth Murray to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for a late-round pick swap. Murray spoke to Jon Machota of The Athletic this week and revealed his true feelings about the deal.
"I'm not gonna lie, it was extremely surprising for me, just because I wasn't expecting it," said Murray. "At the same time, I was ecstatic because, obviously, playing for the Dallas Cowboys is a big deal. I'm excited to be able to come here, bring my brand of football and just fly around and make plays."
Mike Borgonzi has been fairly active in his first season as the general manager of the Tennessee Titans. The longtime Kansas City Chiefs executive is attempting to turn over the roster that won only three games a season ago, and he has done so through several avenues, including the trade of Murray.
Murray was originally drafted in the first round by the Los Angeles Chargers in 2020 and spent four years with the franchise before joining the Titans last offseason. In his lone year in Tennessee, he recorded 95 tackles, including eight for a loss and 3.5 sacks, as well as an interception. Now, he'll attempt to revive his career once again in Dallas.
