Newcastle United captain Bruno Guimaraes has been linked with Arsenal.
Toon fans are relentlessly reading rumours about Newcastle United’s top stars leaving the club, with Alexander Isak the player who gets the most attention.
But there is also speculation over Bruno Guimaraes’ future. This comes after the Magpies were able to retain the Brazilian in 2024 despite all the chatter about his £100million release clause.
2025 has brought fresh talk of a move away, with Arsenal linked with Bruno.

Update on Bruno Guimaraes’ Newcastle United future
However, the Athletic’s David Ornstein is not expecting the Brazil international to leave St James’ Park and end up in North London as it stands.
As part of a Q&A, Ornstein was asked about Arsenal’s interest in Bruno.
He wrote: “I don’t see him leaving Newcastle and I’m not currently aware of Arsenal wanting to sign him.”

That deal saw him become Newcastle’s highest earner, while it also included a release clause that was active for a short period last summer. However, it was not triggered by any of his suitors, despite rumoured interest from Manchester City, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain.
Bruno’s next Newcastle goal after Carabao Cup win
Bruno will not be interested in rumours regarding his future. His main focus will be ensuring that Newcastle qualify for the 2025/26 Champions League.
With 10 games to go, the Magpies’ fate is in their own hands. They are in a decent position, but Eddie Howe’s side certainly need to finish the campaign strongly to secure their Champions League return.
Like every Toon player, Bruno will be desperate to qualify. He deserves to be playing in Europe’s elite competition, while being in the Champions League will help Newcastle United retain their best players.
Bruno made Newcastle history by lifting the Carabao Cup and ending the club’s trophy drought, but there is still a lot to play for this season.
