Manchester United have had a season plagued with injuries once again as The Red Devils battle their way back up the Premier League table from 13th place.
Since Ruben Amorim arrived at the club back in November, the Portuguese manager has had to negotiate multiple absences due to injury when selecting his match day line-ups.
Back in February, the situation was so dire that Amorim travelled to London for United’s English Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur with their bench of nine players including only Victor Lindelof with English Premier League experience.
Alongside the Swedish centre-back sat Harry Amass, Jack Fletcher, Tyler Fredricsson, Elyh Harrison, Ayden Heaven, Sekou Kone, Jack Moorhouse and Chido Obi – with Amorim having to rely on his youth talent for back-up.
Now heading into the international break, while Manchester United have some key players out of action, the treatment room at Carrington looks set to be quietening down over the coming weeks.
So, who is Amorim without for a little while longer, and who could be making a return against Nottingham Forest in two weeks time?

Long-term injuries at Manchester United
The major long-term injury for Amorim to consider is that of Lisandro Martinez.
The Argentine centre-back was stretchered off in United’s 2-0 loss to Crystal Palace, having torn his Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL).
Since then, Martinez has travelled to London to have surgery to repair the damage, however he’s still set for a long stay in the treatment room, missing the rest of the season.
However, he’s not alone, with Amad Diallo also suffering ligament damage, this time in his ankle.
The winger was taken off in United’s 1-0 away loss to Tottenham with surgery also being recommended to repair the damage.
Whilst it was initially expected for Amad to miss the rest of the season like Martinez, recent comments from Amorim have thrown that into question, along with glimpses of the star without crutches or his protective boot, suggesting we might see his return much sooner.
After United’s win over Real Sociedad in the Europa League, Amorim commented: “Even Amad, we will see in the end of the last month. I don’t want to say anything but I have the hope to have Amad before the end of the season.”
Although these comments suggest he might make it back to the pitch by the end of the season, he’s still not expected to return for another month.
