Former Texas Longhorns wide receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey signed a one-year deal with the New York Giants this week. Humphrey, a six-year veteran of the NFL, was a member of the Denver Broncos’ squad for the two previous seasons.
At Texas, Humphrey witnessed the end of the football program’s unsuccessful Charlie Strong era and the beginning of the slightly less unsuccessful Tom Herman era.
Humphrey went undrafted in the 2019 NFL Draft before the New Orleans Saints signed him as an undrafted free agent. However, the Saints then waived Humphrey during the 2019 NFL preaseason only to then sign on as a member of New Orleans’ practice squad. Humphrey would go on to finish the 2019 regular season with the Saints, as well as the 2020 and 2021 NFL seasons before he was released and then signed with the New England Patriots, where Humphrey competed for a long season. Then, Denver for two seasons.
And now, New York.
