Leeds United defender Diogo Monteiro impressed during his Portugal U20s debut on Friday afternoon, captaining the side and scoring the equaliser in a 1-1 draw with England.
Facing an England U20s side unbeaten in seven UEFA Elite League games, the Young Lions Starting XI featured Premier League talent including West Ham's Oliver Scarles, Crystal Palace's Romain Esse and Tottenham's Dane Scarlett.
England took an early lead after seven minutes, Scarlett putting the visitors ahead at the Estadio Municipal de Leiria, before Monteiro, making his first start since stepping up from Portugal's U19s, scored the equaliser in the 32nd minute.
Both sides would see out the second half, Portugal U20s keeping a tight hold on fourth place and a game against Germany awaiting on Monday.
