The Pittsburgh Steelers have a pre-draft visit scheduled with Oklahoma State RB Ollie Gordon, per Ryan Fowler of The Draft Network. Gordon has been one of the most productive backs in college football over the past two seasons.

Dynamic ball-carrier had an excellent week at the Senior Bowl & remains one of the premier RBs in a loaded class.

Gordon finished seventh in Heisman voting in 2023 after he ran 285 times for 1,732 yards and 21 touchdowns. He didn’t match that production in 2024, running 190 times for 880 yards and 13 touchdowns, but the Steelers have maintained interest in Gordon. The team held a formal meeting with him at the NFL Combine, and now he’ll come to Pittsburgh and get to meet with coaches and see the Steelers’ facility.

With RB Najee Harris signing with the Los Angeles Chargers, Pittsburgh currently has Jaylen Warren, Kenneth Gainwell and Cordarrelle Patterson as options in the running back room. Patterson could wind up being cut though, and the Steelers are likely going to draft a running back.

Gordon isn’t projected to be a first-round selection, but with Pittsburgh not having a second-round pick due to the DK Metcalf trade, they would need to hope Gordon falls to the third round, unless the team trades back, if they want to draft him.

The Steelers have already brought in RBs DJ Giddens, Dylan Sampson and Bhayshul Tuten for pre-draft visits, and they’re continuing their interest in backs with Ollie Gordon coming in.

Gordon measured in at 6013 and 226 pounds at the Combine. He didn’t run super well in the 40-yard dash with a 4.61 official time, and Gordon probably isn’t the back the Steelers are looking for if they want a speed back. But he’s another bigger back who can fill the role that was vacated by Harris, and if that’s what the Steelers want, Gordon is a fit. Pittsburgh has done a good job doing their due diligence on a deep running back class, and they’ll likely have a better idea of what they want in their running back come late April.

Given their continued interest in Gordon, he’s a name that bears watching though, and we’ll see when he ultimately does come in for his visit.
