Aaron Rodgers may not be playing games in the AFC East anymore, but that doesn't mean the four-time NFL MVP won't affect the Buffalo Bills next season - especially if he lands with the team he is currently visiting.
Oh, and that goes for the other contenders across the AFC map as well.
Garry Dulac of KDKA in Pittsburgh reported Friday afternoon that Rodgers visited with the Pittsburgh Steelers and met with the coaching staff.
While no deal is done (as we write this), this is the first visit Rodgers has had since the New York Jets opted to release him after a two-year run.
Buffalo, to name one team, wasn't affected much by the Rodgers signing in New York. They won three of four contests against the Jets in each of the last two seasons with Rodgers playing in three of those games.
Should Rodgers end up with the Steelers - the team he beat in Super Bowl XLV - things could certainly change.
Pittsburgh acquired DK Metcalf in a trade before the start of the new league year. Rodgers would have an offense with two quality receivers and a strong defense to work with.
In that regard alone, the Steelers are a better fit for what Rodgers needs now at 41 years old.

Pittsburgh may be in the midst of a near-decade-long drought without a playoff win, but a big part of that is due to the organization not having the right quarterback for their playoff games.
If Rodgers can be anywhere close to his old Hall-of-Fame self, the Steelers should be considered true contenders in the AFC.
And that would mean another team the contenders like the Chiefs, Ravens, Bills and more would have to focus on this offseason.
