The Kansas City Chiefs are again looming to be one of the teams to beat in 2025, and that is despite getting curb-stomped by the Philadelphia Eagles in the Super Bowl.
General manager Brett Veach knew the holes in the roster and didn't waste time trying to fill them.
Left tackle loomed as the biggest need, and Jaylon Moore, a backup with the San Francisco 49ers, was signed. Running back Elijah Mitchell was also signed to inject some pace into the rushing attack, and Kristian Fulton was the other "big" name Kansas City acquired.
Plus, several key players were re-signed, headlined by Nick Bolton and Marquise Brown, and Trey Smith was franchise tagged. So, that is a solid few weeks of business, but how should we grade the Chiefs' dealings?
CBS Sports' Jordan Dajani has given it a go, and ... shockingly ... he's given Kansas City an A-.
"They placed the franchise tag on Trey Smith, quickly targeted Patrick Mahomes' new left tackle in Jaylon Moore, added a starting cornerback in Kristian Fulton, retained linebacker and defensive quarterback Nick Bolton and re-signed wide receivers Marquise Brown and JuJu Smith-Schuster," Dajani writes. "We'll see if Moore is the long-term answer at left tackle and how left guard shakes out, but Kansas City has done a good job."
The Chiefs have started well, but more needs to be done, and given the salary cap situation (only $15 million available per Over The Cap), Kansas City might have to get creative.
Of course, there is the draft, and for most, a left tackle in round one still appears to be the way the AFC champs are leaning.

But another receiver possibly to go with Brown, Smith-Schuster, Rashee Rice, and Xavier Worthy might be an idea as a potential replacement for Travis Kelce and some defensive line help, too.
However, so far, Chiefs Kingdom can't have too many complaints regarding how the franchise has done its business in the past few weeks.
