Shots fired by Fox Sports NFL draft analyst Rob Rang.
Rang recently opined on Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders, whose stock is dropping faster than Tesla. It has been rumored Sanders might fall all the way down to the Pittsburgh Steelers at No. 21. What's worse is the Steelers might actually take him if he drops to them.
Rang was posed with the question of whether Sanders will go boom or bust. He chose the latter.
"Shedeur Sanders is not the leader that a lot of teams are looking for," Rang said. "He doesn't have the elite arm strength that teams feel is necessary.
"It's basically a very similar argument as to why Kenny Pickett wound up falling all the way down to Pittsburgh years ago."
Rang knows that Pickett's name is not one Steelers fans want to hear. He was just traded for the second time in his brief career.
"Now, I know that's not a name that Steelers fans are going to be excited about me mentioning at this point," Rang said. "But that, to me, would be the argument that the physical, the physical set, is not elite."
Statistically speaking, Sanders had a very admirable senior campaign. He threw for 4, 134 yards and 37 touchdowns while he completed 74 percent of his passes. He also had to run for his life as he played behind a weak offensive front.

It is doubtful Sanders will fall all the way to the Steelers, because too many teams in the middle picks need a quarterback. He will not go in the top 10, but someone will give him a shot in the top half of the first round. Just like Pickett.
This flies in the face of what Mel Kiper, Jr. said. Kiper has him down on his board as QB1. He must be drinking the juice that Deion is selling. There is no way he is a better leader or thrower of the football than Cam Ward. It can be argued Jaxson Dart of Ole Miss is a better pro prospect than Sanders.
Rang happens to be correct here. Wherever Sanders goes, he will be a bust.
