The Pittsburgh Steelers need to cancel the Aaron Rodgers experiment and just move forward with Mason Rudolph as the starting quarterback for the 2025 season.
Steelers general manager Omar Khan needs to come out publicly and give Rudolph the keys to the engine and let him drive. The Rodgers project is on life support and it is time to pull the proverbial plug.
Rodgers was at the Steelers facility Friday for six hours and had a glorified meet and greet, despite the fact he already knew everyone. What he was doing in the building for six hours without signing a contract is pure hilarity.
David Dunn, Rodgers agent, told him to take his time in making his decision. He said the longer you wait the more leverage you have. From a fiscal standpoint it might make sense, but when it comes to football it is a poor decision.
He will fail to win over the locker room with his prima donna attitude. Further, the fan base will never accept him the longer he waits to commit.
Rodgers will be a stop gap quarterback anyway. He probably would not be offered more than a one-year deal. It would be more prudent to go with Rudolph, who will win at least six games at a minimum. At his 41-year old best, he Rodgers does not win more than nine games.

Omar, save your money and put an end to the drama. Let Rodgers go to Cleveland or retire. Start Rudolph and find a good quality quarterback in the draft. Let the rookie sit and learn and then start next season. Throw him to the wolves if Rudolph stinks the joint up, which he will not do.
People in Pittsburgh are used to losing in the first round of the playoffs. Another bad season, with either quarterback, is not going to kill them.
