When the New York Giants announce their first pick of the NFL Draft next month, the third overall selection, it better not be Shedeur Sanders.
The G-Men want Cam Ward really badly. Unfortunately, he will more than likely be the first pick of the draft by the Tennessee Titans. He will not be available to the Giants.
The Giants then need to look at the best player available. They are not going to satisfy their need for.a quarterback in the first round. They should be looking at Penn State's Abdul Carter or Colorado's Travis Hunter.
One should be available and he needs to be taken at No. 3.
New York needs to draft a quarterback - in an ideal world - but outside of Ward, no one is worthy of a top-5 pick.
Jaxson Dart from Ole Miss should be around in the second round for the Giants to take with pick 34. If Dart is not available, there will be a similar tier II quarterbacks available in the second or later rounds for them to take and groom.
Remember, Wilson was a third-round pick out of Wisconsin and ended up starting for Seattle as a rookie.
The Giants need to stay away from Sanders because the drop off between him and Ward is significant. They are not close in ability. Plus, when you draft Sanders, you also get his famous father, Deion Sanders, who will give coach Brian Daboll headaches every week.

Sanders has already been called "brash" and "arrogant" by one quarterback coach at the NFL Scouting Combine. There are probably plenty of others who think the same thing, but are unwilling to say it out loud.
If the Giants are smart enough to sign Russell Wilson as a free agent and draft Hunter, and play him at wide receiver where he caught passes for over 1,000 yards last season at Colorado, he would really spread the field with Malik Nabers.
Wilson has plenty of ability to get them the football and the Giants would have an explosive offense.
In short, the 2 reasons to not take Shedeur are named "Abdul'' and "Travis.'
