There will be an 11th NFL season with Jameis Winston, the former Bucs franchise quarterback turned journeyman backup.
The first overall pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, quickly selected by the Buccaneers, is now a member of the New York Giants, a team that hasn’t won playoff game since the Super Bowl in February of 2012.
As of now, he’s only competing with quarterback Tom DeVito, north New Jersey’s favorite son. It’s unclear if the Giants are still pursuing Aaron Rodgers (of course they are) and Russell Wilson. Joe Flacco was being sniffed by the Giants, as well.
FOX is reporting it’s a two-year, $4 million deal for Jameis — not even Kyle Trask money. Jameis must be excited, though, that he still has a slim chance at being a starting quarterback once again.
America’s turnover machine was with the bumbling Browns last season, when he had 13 touchdown passes, 12 interceptions and 5 fumbles in 7 starts.
