Depot After Dark: Steelers Make Donation, Jackson First Acting Role, Watts Gets Key To City

A Steelers Depot daily segment. A quick hit of some Pittsburgh Steelers-related stories that may not require a complete article but nuggets worth mentioning and passing on to you guys.

Your Depot After Dark for March 21.

STEELERS MAKE DONATION

The Steelers do more than just play football. They also have a heavy presence in Pittsburgh. Their community service is well documented. That doesn’t just include specific players like Cam Heyward, either. The team does a lot of good, too.

On their Twitter account, the Steelers brought attention to one way they’ve recently given back to others. Last week, they made a donation to Artists Image Resource in Pittsburgh. AIR is an image and print laboratory that tries to mold people’s creative abilities. It also produces the Steelers’ Gameday Poster Series. They’ve been donating to AIR since 2022, showing their appreciation for the program.

JACKSON FIRST ACTING ROLE

The Baltimore Ravens are the Steelers’ biggest rival, so it’s unfortunate that they have one of the best quarterbacks in the league. Lamar Jackson is sensational, almost capturing his third MVP award last year. He’s one of a kind under center, and now, it looks like he’s taking a shot at a different job.

According to Baltimore Banner Sports on Twitter, Jackson will be making his acting debut in the upcoming show Power Book III: Raising Kanan. Jackson had expressed interest in making an appearance on the show in the past. Now, he’ll get his wish. Hopefully, for the sake of Steelers fans, Jackson will be a natural at acting and choose to retire early to pursue a career in Hollywood.

WATTS GETS KEY TO CITY

Defensive back Ryan Watts had an unfortunate rookie season with the Steelers. An injury in the preseason knocked him out for the year, and it seems like he’s still trying to bounce back from it. It sounds like a scary injury. Hopefully he can get on the field and continue his career this year. It looks like his hometown is incredibly proud of him, though.

Watts shared on his Instagram that he’s been given the key to the city for Little Elm, Texas. It’s an immense honor for Watts, who should have a chance to prove himself in the league this year. With any luck, it won’t be the last honor Watts receives.
