Giants make shocking decision on Aaron Rodgers

The New York Giants have been heavily linked to quarterback Aaron Rodgers throughout the offseason following his ousting from the other team in the Big Apple, the New York Jets.

However, things took an interesting turn on Friday, when the Giants made a move to bring in another veteran quarterback.

“BREAKING: The#Giants and QB Jameis Winston are finalizing a 2-year, $8M deal, which could be up to $16M with incentives, multiple sources tell (NFL on FOX),” reported FOX Sports’ Joran Schultz on Twitter.

Many felt as if this move was the Giants indicating that they were officially withdrawing from the Rodgers’ sweepstakes, and one prominent league insider reported on the situation.

“This does not change the Giants’ pursuit of Aaron Rodgers or alter any other possible QB routes,” NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported following the Giants’ signing of Winston.

“Just getting a veteran QB under contract in a QB room that only had Tommy DeVito coming into the day.”

However, it’s worth noting that the Giants made the move following reports that Rodges spent as long as six hours at the Pittsburgh Steelers facility on Friday, and the Steelers have been the other team viewed as the favorites to land Rodgers this offseason.

It’ll be interesting to see how things play out from here.
