Osimhen sends Chelsea brilliant transfer message as £50m leverage secured

Chelsea will be desperate to return to winning ways after their disappointing defeat to Arsenal last weekend. The Blues will host Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge after the international break as they both look to climb the Premier League standings.

While Chelsea have dropped crucial points in the pursuit for Champions League qualification, they're still in the top four. Manchester City, Newcastle United and Brighton will be desperate to leapfrog the west Londoners during the end of season run-in.

But, Enzo Maresca is set to welcome some big names back to the starting line-up soon. So, with all that being said, football.london has rounded up the latest Chelsea news and transfer gossip;

Chelsea leverage in £50m transfer race

Chelsea appear to have leverage over their Premier League rivals in the race to sign Dean Huijsen. The 19-year-old defender - who recently made his international debut for Spain - has been heavily linked with a move this summer following his impressive performances for Bournemouth.

According to talkSPORT, Huijsen has a £50m release clause in his current Cherries' contract - which doesn't expire until June 2030. While several top clubs are said to be chasing his signature, Chelsea could be primed to wrap up a deal before anybody else.

The Telegraph claim Bournemouth are open to turning Kepa Arrizabalaga's loan from the Blues into a permanent deal. The report adds that Andoni Iraola's side will be in the market for a goalkeeper this summer, also shortlisting Caoimhin Kelleher and Mads Hermansen.

football.london says: "Chelsea have secured themselves some leverage in the race to snap-up Dean Huijsen. By offering Kepa Arrizabalaga to Bournemouth in exchange for the teenage defender, plus cash of course, the Blues seem to be in a strong position. The convenience of a potential deal could outweigh the hassle in the long run."

Osimhen sends Chelsea brilliant message

Victor Osimhen has reminded Chelsea exactly what he's about ahead of the upcoming transfer window. The Napoli striker was heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in the summer, but a deal collapsed right at the eleventh hour - so he joined Galatasaray on loan instead.

Osimhen, who sees his contract at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium expire in June 2026, has featured 22 times in the Süper Lig this season, scoring 20 goals and providing four assists. Playing a key role in Okan Buruk's side, the 26-year-old has fired the Turkish giants to the top of the table - and they remain unbeaten.

He's been just as important for his country, too. On Friday night, Osimhen fired Nigeria to a 2-0 win over Rwanda, finding the net twice inside the first half. With a quarter of an hour or so left on the clock, the Chelsea target was replaced by Tolu Arokodare.

football.london says: "Victor Osimhen would almost-certainly be a great signing for Chelsea. My only fear is the price tag. The Blues shouldn't pay more than £70m for the striker - and even that might be a push. He's very good - but so is Nicolas Jackson - who's been class this season."

Chelsea 'interested' in Real Madrid star

According to TBR Football, Chelsea are huge admirers of Vinicius Junior - and they'd be very interested in signing him if the opportunity arose. The 24-year-old forward has been thinly linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League as he approaches the final two years of his contract at Real Madrid.

The report claims that a switch to London would appeal to Vinicius, if he were to depart the Santiago Bernabeu. That said, TBR Football argue the Brazil international has recently entered talks with Los Blancos over a new deal after Kylian Mbappe became the top earner in the summer.

football.london says: "Unless Vinicius was to force a move away from Real Madrid - which I'm sure he wouldn't - then no side has a chance of signing him at the moment. Los Blancos would demand an eye-watering amount of money for his signature. It's worth noting that every team in the world is probably interested in signing Vini. I want to buy a Ferrari - but that doesn't mean I can, or I will... "
