Arsenal will get one of their internationals back well-rested.

One of Arsenal’s key stars will miss out on a second game for his country during the current international break. The current international period is the final of the season, with no further interruptions between now and the end of the campaign.

The Gunners are all-but out of the Premier League title race at this point, but they will be looking forward to having a good run at the Champions League, hoping to finally win the competition.

Mikel Arteta’s men face Real Madrid in the quarter-finals, so they will certainly have to earn their way through the competition. Arsenal will remain without a starting striker, but on the plus side, they will get Bukayo Saka back in April, and Gabriel Martinelli has returned. There is a fresh concern over Riccardo Calafiori, who picked up an issue with Italy, but it doesn’t look overly serious.

All eyes will be on the rest of the internationals to see if there are any further concerns, but the good news is that Arteta won’t have to worry about starting centre-back Gabriel Magalhaes, who will now get some extra rest.

That’s because Gabriel picked up a yellow card during Brazil’s World Cup qualifiers win over Colombia this week, and that means he will miss this weekend’s tasty looking qualifier with Argentina. The Brazilian FA have confirmed that PSG’s Beraldo has been called up in his place, while Newcastle United’s Bruno Guimaraes is also suspended fo the same reason, and he will be replaced by Wolves’ Joao Gomes. Atalanta’s Ederson. Elsewhere, goalkeeper Weverton from Palmeiras has been called up to replace Alisson Becker, who is in concussion protocol after suffering a head blow against Colombia.

Arsenal now have some extra rest before their next outing, facing Fulham a week on Tuesday, with the Cottagers in FA Cup action this weekend, so Gabriel will be very well rested, even after his travel back to London, by the time that game comes around.
