West Ham United midfielder James Ward-Prowse was brought back to the London Stadium by Graham Potter on transfer deadline day in the January window.
James-Ward-Prowse was recalled to West Ham by Graham Potter, after an incredibly unsuccessful loan spell at the City Ground.
It surprised everyone when Julen Lopetegui allowed James Ward-Prowse to join Nottingham Forest in the summer, only to replace him with the hapless Guido Rodriguez.
Graham Potter clearly thought that was a terrible decision, and did everything he could to bring him back to the London Stadium.
Potter has already spoken very highly indeed of Ward-Prowse since he came back to West Ham.

But does the 30-year-old former Southampton man really have a future with West Ham?

The hard-working midfielder clearly sets a very good example during West Ham training.
He is well known for oozing professionalism, and Potter has always loved characters like that on board.

The Hammers owners allowed Ward-Prowse to leave the club seven months ago, but it seems like they won’t be making the same mistake again this time around.
According to Give Me Sport, Potter has made it very clear to the West Ham board that he wants to keep Ward-Prowse at West Ham beyond the end of the summer window.
The 49-year-old Hammers head coach is said to be a huge fan of the midfielder’s application and professionalism.

It is claimed that Ward-Prowse is ‘delighted to have been given a lifeline’ at the London Stadium by Potter.
Graham Potter making a big James Ward-Prowse mistake
As hard as this might be to hear, I’m not sure that Potter is making the correct call here.
Ward-Prowse is very solid footballer, but he’s not a so-called ‘needle-mover’ for West Ham.
His passing isn’t progressive enough, and he lacks the pace and power that we so desperately need in central midfield.
The 30-year-old should be nothing more than a back-up at the London Stadium. That was something he didn’t want to be last summer, and it was the reason why he joined Nottingham Forest on loan.
Graham Potter is putting his neck on the line by demanding that West Ham keep James Ward-Prowse.
As far as I’m concerned, he should be a lead candidate to be sold, given the need for Potter to raise funds this summer.
