Araujo to return to Barca? Bielsa ready to make changes

Uruguay boss Marcelo Bielsa has hinted that Ronald Araujo may not play for the team in their next World Cup qualifier against Bolivia.

There’s been speculation already that Araujo will be left out of the match, as it will be played at altitude, and could return to Barcelona early.

Bielsa said after Friday’s defeat to Argentina that he will make changes to his team.

“We already know that playing at altitudes above 4,000 meters, not even in La Paz, increases the difficulty of a match, but surely players who played today won’t be playing, some will, others won’t. But the altitude doesn’t invalidate our position of going to win the game and believing that we can do it.” he told reporters.

Barcelona would love to have Araujo back early, or certainly without too many minutes in his legs, as they are due to play Osasuna on Thursday in their rearranged La Liga game.

Hansi Flick also has issues defensively with Inigo Martinez and Pau Cubarsi both doubts for the game due to physical issues.
