Ryan Giggs is a Manchester United legend and has now advised the club against two possible mistakes they could make this summer.
The iconic Welsh winger is often a forgotten man when considering the best wingers in Premier League history.
Ryan Giggs however is one of Manchester United’s best players of all time. He played a defining role in the 1999 United treble-winning side and had a playing career which stretched almost three decades.
Sir Alex Ferguson named Giggs as one of four world-class players he managed which is quite a high billing from the best manager of all time.
Giggs made 963 appearances for United in his career and was the definition of a one-club-man, even becoming interim manager after David Moyes was sacked.
Now, Giggs has been speaking about United possibly selling two academy graduates under Ineos.

Ryan Giggs wants Manchester United to keep Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo
Giggs was speaking at a Foundation 92 gala dinner, as quoted by the Manchester Evening News, and explained the importance of keeping both Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo.
“It’s important. I think it’s really important. I think the problem is with the financial constraints that clubs are now under.

“I don’t get it, it makes it easier to get rid of the younger players. It doesn’t seem right because… not only United, but lots of clubs rely on players coming through. Obviously, I’ve seen United players coming through and the fans just give them more time. They get behind them.
“It’s great to see. It’s one of your own. Maybe they’ve followed them through the youth team and the younger teams. They want to see them on the pitch, and not only see them on the pitch but stay on the pitch for a number of years.
“Together with that, players who come from other clubs, they sort of always historically showed them what it takes and what it means to be a United player. I think it’s really important. The players you mentioned there, they’re talented. They’ve shown what they’re capable of doing.”
Giggs then concluded with the point that back in his day, if academy graduates were being sold we might never have had the Class of ’92 as they are known today.
“It’s sad to see. You think what would it have been like back in our days if that was the case? How many players wouldn’t have played 300, 400, 500 games for Man United? It’s sad. I hope it doesn’t happen. You can see why clubs are taking advantage of it.”
Manchester United cannot sell academy graduates to ease finances
United’s finances are in a perilous state, with mismanagement from the Glazer family now being cleaned up by Ineos over the past year.
Due to countless transfer failures, United have a bill of £89m to spend this summer with instalments for the likes of Antony still to be paid.
Amid terrible recruitment, one reliable source of players for United has been the academy and with Garnacho and Mainoo the club cannot use their success stories for the finances.
Instead, these two are examples to young players at the club and are likely the reason Chido Obi chose United for example.
Garnacho has been growing as a player under Amorim in particular and improving so it would be a shame to see him exit.
