Arsenal among clubs interested in Premier League forward

Arsenal will hope to cut Liverpool’s lead at the top of the table to nine points by beating Fulham when the Premier League returns at the start of April.

The Gunners currently sit 12 points behind the Reds, but Mikel Arteta’s side face the Cottagers before Liverpool’s next match and therefore have the opportunity to cut their advantage down to single figures.

Despite this, the North London outfit’s chances of lifting the trophy in May remain slim, with Arne Slot’s side having lost just once in the Premier League so far this season.

This summer, those in charge of Arsenal’s recruitment could look to bolster Mikel Arteta’s squad, and it appears that they have their sights set on a Premier League forward.

As per CaughtOffside, both Arsenal and rivals Manchester United are interested in Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo.

The Cameroon international has been in sensational form for the Bees this season, netting 15 times in 29 Premier League matches.

Mbeumo is a target for both Arsenal and Manchester United

His impressive displays haven’t gone unnoticed, though, and the report claims that both the Gunners and the Red Devils are showing interest in the 25-year-old.

Despite this, it is also claimed that Newcastle United are currently showing the most significant interest in the forward, with the Magpies willing to meet Brentford’s £50 million valuation of the player.

The Cameroonian is under contract with the West London side until the end of next term, but it appears that Brentford may face a battle to keep hold of the player.

Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are both also said to have shown interest in the forward, who joined the Bees from French side Troyes in 2019.

Since then, Mbeumo has scored 65 goals in 233 games for Brentford, as well as registering 47 assists.
