There has been an assumption that Andrey Santos (20) would return to Chelsea in the summer following a highly successful loan spell at partner club RC Strasbourg Alsace, however, perhaps not. The Brazilian hinted at a decision to make in the near future during an interview with **[ESPN](https://www.espn.com.br/video/clipe/_/id/14944372).**
Santos joined Strasbourg on loan for the second half of last season, thriving and then seeing his stay in Alsace extended by a further year. He has cemented his reputation during his first full season in France as one of the most promising and dynamic box-to-box midfielders in Europe.
It is logical, therefore, that he would return to Chelsea in the summer and be integrated into the first-team set-up. **Fabrizio Romano** confirmed that this was indeed the intention last week. However, Santos’ comments to **ESPN** have allowed a sense of doubt to creep in.
On a return to Stamford Bridge, the midfielder said, _“Of course, you want to play for the biggest clubs in Europe, for a very big club like Chelsea. You dream of that moment but I think, at this moment, you have to have a clear head, finish the season here_ (Strasbourg) _and make the best choice when the season is over,”_ said the Brazilian.
He added, _“I don’t think that a specific decision has been made. No one has come to talk to me directly. Everything is in the hands of the club and my agents.”_
