Report: It is now 'increasingly likely' that Chelsea's first-team player will leave this summer, he's wasted his chance

Chelsea’s first-team player is being tipped to leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.

When you look around the Chelsea squad this campaign, there’s been a mixed bag in terms of performances.

Blues stars such as Moises Caicedo, Cole Palmer and Marc Cucurella have been shining lights for Enzo Maresca’s side. According to Jason Cundy, Cucurella has matched Palmer’s level this season with his outstanding displays at left-back.

In contrast, a few Chelsea individuals are nowhere near the levels they’re capable of reaching.

Christopher Nkunku is ‘increasingly likely’ to leave Chelsea this summer

According to GiveMeSport, Chelsea attacker Christopher Nkunku may be set to exit Stamford Bridge at the end of the season in the summer transfer window.

It is claimed that it is ‘increasingly likely’ that the 27-year-old Frenchman will leave in the summer because many feel he needs a fresh move to reignite his career.

The report adds that the second half of the season was viewed as a ‘final chance’ to get his Chelsea career back on track, but he’s wasting the opportunity to impress with some mediocre performances.

Nkunku pushed to leave Chelsea in January amid interest from Bayern Munich. He stayed put because a move never materialised in the New year, though.

Christopher Nkunku hasn’t done enough for Chelsea

On paper, Nkunku’s 2024/25 season has been a decent one so far in Chelsea colours. His record of 14 goals and five assists in 38 appearances across all competitions is respectable.

However, he’s certainly not delivered in the big moments, especially in 2025.

The team has been crying out for his help in the forward line recently due to injuries within the squad, but he’s gone into his shell a bit.

Many will argue that Nkunku isn’t at his sharpest because he rarely gets to play in his preferred No 10 role, operating either from the left wing or up top. However, a player with his ability should be doing so much more.
