Myles Lewis-Skelly had a dream international debut for England as they beat Albania 2-0 at Wembley on Friday night.
After making his breakthrough into the Arsenal senior team this season, the 18-year-old received his first call-up to the England squad by new manager Thomas Tuchel for this month's World Cup qualifiers against Albania and Latvia. He was named in the starting line-up and only needed 20 minutes to show his impact.
Lewis-Skelly scored the opening goal after an assist by Jude Bellingham, which he finished under the Albania goalkeeper. Harry Kane then went on to score the second goal in the second half.
After the match, the Arsenal left-back was given the player of the match award. Speaking for England's social media channels, he said: "I'm lost for words, honestly. Just want to thank God.
"Thank you to my teammates and thank you to the boss. So yeah, I'm lost for words. I'm so happy.
"Wow, this [award] is amazing, thank you."
Taking to Instagram, the youngster shared a couple of snaps from the game. He wrote: "Dreaming," followed by an England and heart emoji. The post prompted a number of players to respond.
Aston Villa loanee Marcus Rashford simply replied with a love heart emoji while Real Madrid midfielder Bellingham added: "Congrats MLS," followed by a white heart emoji.
Arsenal trio Jurrien Timber and Gabriel Magalhaes also reacted to the post with emojis and Declan Rice wrote: "The start," with a love heart emoji.
England boss Tuchel was also pleased with Lewis-Skelly's performance. "He is such an open character," he said.
"He was amazing in camp. Full of confidence, full of humour. You see everything on the pitch, off the pitch. He does it with a natural confidence.
"That's how he plays football. Full of courage and quality. He was decisive and opened this game for us."
