Michael Jordan Mansion Buyer is Now Facing Major Problem With the Property

After years of not selling on the market, the famous mansion of NBA legend Michael Jordan was sold. However, the price that it was sold for was massively less than what the NBA star would have liked.

The mansion was once listed for $29 million on the market but limited interest forced Jordan to lower the price heavily. It was then put up for $14.89 million after being without a buyer for years.

However, after a long desire to sell the mansion, businessman John Cooper eventually bought the property for even less. The reported price of the sale came in at $9.5 million, a long way off from the original $29 million asking price.

But now, Cooper is facing a serious dilemma following his purchase of the mansion. He has been struggling to find a tenant to move into the house, being forced to give his own discount for rent.

The property was originally listed on the rental market for $230,000 a month but Cooper had to drop that price exponentially. The price was lowered to $150,000 a month due to the scarce interest in renters.

Cooper was a fan of Jordan growing up and took a chance to buy his former house. The buyer spoke with the Daily Mail about his decision to purchase this property.

"I remember seeing the home for sale and thinking how cool it would be for the person that buys the home. My favorite player to watch was always Jordan. He made shots that seemed impossible, and he got it done on defense too."

In addition to buying the house, Cooper revealed that he has renamed the property Champions Point. Cooper has said that anyone who wants to rent the property can enjoy "a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity" to enjoy a house '"meticulously designed for those who live and breathe sports."

Jordan was a sports icon for many around the globe and this house was part of that picture of him. For any fan, it represents something special but Cooper now gets the chance to turn this place into whatever he wants even with the tenant issue.
