Thunder Made NBA History With Recent Clinching Of No. 1 Seed

The Oklahoma City Thunder will enter the playoffs as the top seed in the Western Conference.

That’s obviously a major achievement for the team, especially considering how young they are.

In fact, as pointed out by Brandon Rahbar, per Legion Hoops, this year’s Thunder are one of the two youngest teams in NBA history to finish as a No. 1 seed.

The other youngest team?

The 2024 Oklahoma City Thunder.

They weren’t able to go all the way last year, but is it possible this season now that they are wiser and just slightly older?

Hopes were high for the Thunder in 2023-24, and they reached the playoffs with ease.

Even though they stormed past the New Orleans Pelicans in the opening round, they faced problems when they were challenged by the Dallas Mavericks.

They ended up losing that series, while the Mavs went all the way to the NBA Finals.

The team and its loyal fans are hoping things will be different this year.

It has to be noted that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is doing even better than last season and is the current frontrunner for MVP.

He will provide the team with a ton of offensive power and leadership.

Meanwhile, other stars like Jalen Williams, Lu Dort, and others will step up.

Plus, the team has new additions this year, such as Alex Caruso and Isaiah Hartenstein.

There are plenty of reasons to believe the Thunder are in a better position this year, and they could be named champs soon.

Some people still say they are too young and too inexperienced to earn a title, but the Thunder are ready and eager to prove them all wrong.
