Arsenal lead Bayern Munich in race for 16 G/A youngster

Arsenal are leading the race ahead of Bayern Munich for youngster with 16 goal contributions this season. The German giants are only believed to make a move if their certain conditions are sorted first.

The star in question here is Nico Williams of Athletic Club. Gunner have been long-term admirers of the 22 year old. They were first interested to sign him last season due to his amazing performances in Euro 2024. Williams helped Spain to win the Euro title by scoring in final.

However, Arsenal were unable to convince the 22 year old to join them. As a result, they ended the window without signing any winger. But, this approach has costed Mikel Arteta a lot as he has felt absence of squad depth on multiple occasions.

Gunners are once again going to enter the market for winger this summer. They are still showing interest in Nico Williams. But, the Spaniard also has interest from Barcelona and Bayern Munich. There were reports that Bayern have lead in race but latest reports suggest otherwise.

Arsenal lead the race for Nico Williams

According to Christian Falk, Bayern are not leading the race for Williams. Earlier, it was also reported that Williams will not join Barca unless he is guaranteed a starting role. This makes Arsenal the most likely next destination in the career of 22 year old winger.

Bayern are keeping tabs on Williams as Max Eberl likes him. But, they will only make a move for the Spaniard if some of their current players leave. Firstly, Leroy Sane is set to leave as free agent. He can still renew his contract but if he does decide to leave Mikel Arteta will try to sign him.

Bayern are also willing to part ways with Kingsley Coman. The French winger has interest from multiple English and Saudi clubs. Lastly, Bayern also have Gnabry on sale-list but the German winger currently has no clubs interested in him.
