Lakers’ Rui Hachimura Has Injury Status Upgraded For Showdown vs Bulls

The Los Angeles Lakers have upgraded the status of forward Rui Hachimura for their game against the Chicago Bulls today. Hachimura was originally listed as questionable for the game but now he is being listed as probable.

Being listed as probable doesn't guarantee that Hachimura will play in this game but it seems likely now. Los Angeles has been ramping up his recovery progression in recent days and it seems that his return to the court is here.

Hachimura has been out for weeks as he recovered from a knee injury. Los Angeles has been able to weather the storm without him but his presence on the court massively helps this team.

The forward has provided the Lakers with a strong role player to pair alongside their two stars. Hachimura has also improved his shooting from beyond the 3-point line over the past few seasons and it has taken his game to a new level.

For the year, the veteran has averaged 13.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 0.8 steals per game. Hachimura has shot 41 percent from distance this year, giving Los Angeles a reliable shooting from the 3-point line.

Hachimura also gives this team another big body to use along the wing, adding to their strong defensive unit. While he isn't a lockdown defender, Hachimura has gotten better over the years about using his size to his advantage on the defensive end of the floor.

In addition to Hachimura, Los Angeles could be getting star forward LeBron James back in this game. James saw his own injury status upgraded to questionable so it remains to be seen if he will suit up.

James has been out for about two weeks due to a groin injury that he suffered against the Boston Celtics. The Lakers have stayed the course without him but they need their leader to return if they want any hope of making noise in the postseason.

The team enters this game against the Bulls as the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference standings. Los Angeles remains in a tight battle for playoff positioning as the regular season winds down.

We should know closer to tip-off what the official playing status of Hachimura is for this game.
