CHARLOTTE – A 6-0 run to close the first half led to a 9-7 lead for the 49ers, but they were unable to hold on as Vanderbilt (5-6, 1-1 AAC) ramped up the pressure in the second half to come away with a 15-14 victory on Saturday.

Charlotte (5-6, 0-2 AAC) was paced offensively by Isa Torres who registered her fifth three-plus-goal game of the season as she tallied four on the day. Defensively, Lily Barger and Giana Cutaia's five and four ground balls, respectively, were game highs.

The 49ers led 13-10 midway through the third before the visitors reeled off a run of their own, racking up five consecutive goals across the final minutes of the third and initial five minutes of the fourth quarter to take a 15-13 lead.

The Green and Gold were able to draw within one point over the final four minutes of game action at 15-14, but Vanderbilt's offense was able to milk away the remainder of the clock to hold on for their victory conference victory of the season.
