Los Angeles Lakers guard Bronny James scored a career-high 17 points in Thursday's loss to the Milwaukee Bucks. Appearing in his 22nd NBA game, James was given an increased opportunity with his father and others sidelined due to injury.
Missing his seventh straight game with a groin injury, LeBron James was joined on the bench by Luka Doncic who was also inactive. The two stars watched Bronny James make Lakers history despite the loss.
With his final line of 17 points and five assists on 70% shooting, the former USC guard became the youngest Lakers rookie since Magic Johnson to record that line (via StatMamba).
James' career night was a continuation of his strong play recently in the G League. In nine regular season appearances for the South Bay Lakers, James has averaged 20.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.1 assists (via NBA G League stats).
Following this breakout performance, the Lakers decided to feature James on their game day graphic for Saturday's contest against the Chicago Bulls.
