Jason Kelce was a beloved figure when he played on Sundays for the Philadelphia Eagles and is just as beloved these days as a member of the media, where he works as a part of ESPN’s Monday Night Football broadcast and also hosts a podcast with his brother Travis, “New Heights.”
That’s why so many had heavy hearts when some tragic news was broken by Kelce’s wife Kylie on Instagram on Saturday.
“When I told the girls that Baloo was going to leave us, Ellie asked where he was going,” Kylie captioned the post.
“I told her that he was going to heaven and without skipping a beat she replied, ‘Oh! He’ll get to be with Winnie again! They’ll be so happy to see each other.’
“We were lucky enough to have 7 years with the goofiest, sweetest, most lovable, and tolerant dog l’ve ever met. He wanted nothing more than carbs and pets.
“He was a simple guy, held together by bubble gum and paper clips. The heartbreak is immense, but as Ellie so perfectly pointed out, the Winnie-Bubba reunion had to be pure magic. Miss you already Bubbies.”
Fans reacted to the heartbreaking news on social media.
“So much love to your family. We lost 4 over the last year and a half and the heartbreak is so big but that’s because the love was bigger,” one fan wrote in the comments section.
“We are so lucky to get to have dogs in our lives…wish they could all just stay with us a little longer!” another fan added.
“The perfect sentiment, but the “see you later” is still hard stuff. Thanking of your family as you navigate the process,’ someone else added.
Luckily, Kylie is pregnant with the couple’s fourth child, so the Kelce family will be growing again soon.
