Warriors’ Steve Kerr Makes Steph Curry Announcement Before Lakers Game

The Golden State Warriors have won nine of their last 10 games to maintain a hold on the Western Conference's sixth seed. While Golden State continued its winning ways on Thursday against the Toronto Raptors, its star point guard Steph Curry suffered a pelvic contusion.

Making this news official, the Warriors announced on Friday that Curry will be reevaluated on Monday. Golden State is beginning a six-game road trip on Saturday against the Atlanta Hawks.

This trip ends with a marquee matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers on April 3, and Warriors head coach Steve Kerr has made an announcement that provides clarity on Curry's potential status for that showdown.

While Curry is out on Saturday, Kerr announced their is hope the 2022 Finals MVP could join the Warriors before their road trip concludes.

"Steve Kerr said he is hopeful that Steph Curry will rejoin the Warriors at some point on this road trip," ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk wrote on X. "He will be re-evaluated on Monday. Warriors play at Miami on Tuesday, at New Orleans on Friday, San Antonio next Sunday, Memphis following Tuesday and at Lakers on Thursday."

This seemingly leaves the door open for Curry to be available when the Warriors and Lakers face off at Crypto.com Arena for the final time this season. Los Angeles has already won this season series, having beaten Golden State in all three previous meetings.

With LA's recent skid, just three losses separate the Lakers and Warriors in the Western Conference standings.
