Steelers Skip Pro Day To Host Aaron Rodgers

Please excuse Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Omar Khan and head coach Mike Tomlin for failing to visit Michigan's Pro Day on Friday. They had other things to tend to.

The duo had to help entertain deposed quarterback Aaron Rodgers as he spent over six hours at the team facility speaking with different coaches and members of the front office.

At least fans know where their priorities lie.

"I was told the Steelers wanted to make this meeting happen so much they skipped Michigan's Pro Day yesterday, which if you know the Steelers, that's a big deal," ESPN's Jeremy Fowler said. "Their whole contingent goes to every big pro day. They stood in town to meet with him and look, I checked with a team source who said they are aggressively pursuing this, he's No. 1 on our radar,

"Russell Wilson is not totally off the list but they would like to try to make this happen."

A contract offer was already on the table and the numbers were believed to have been omitted from the conversations. The questions is quite simply whether or not Rodgers wants to play for the Steelers, or anyone in 2025.

Rodgers met with Tomlin, Khan, offensive coordinator, Arthur Smith and owner Art Rooney II for six hours before departing without a signed contract.

It should be noted the Steelers did the same thing with Russell Wilson last year before he signed a one-year contract two days later. Coaches are hoping come Monday, Rodgers will have made a decision in the Steelers' favor.

Rodgers spent the previous two seasons with the New York Jets. He ended last season with 3,897 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.
