Former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Russell Wilson has not been heard from this weekend. The news has been surrounding Aaron Rodgers visiting the Steelers to take his old job. Friday afternoon the news was Jameis Winston signing with the New York Giants.
What is to become of Wilson, who won a Super Bowl with the Seattle Seahawks and had a decent season with Pittsburgh last season.
Wilson started 11 games for Pittsburgh last season. He was fairly accurate as he completed 63.7 percent of his passes for 2,482 yards with 16 touchdowns and only five interceptions.
Wilson also led the team to the playoffs, where they lost to the Baltimore Ravens in the Wild Card round.
Despite his above-average statistics and directing the Steelers to the playoffs, he is not anticipated back in the Black and Yellow.
"Nothing shocks me, but I would be very surprised if Russell Wilson, under any circumstances, is back in Pittsburgh," NFL Network's Tom Pelissero said on Friday.
The New York Giants are said to be Wilson's choice team to play for in 2025.

Despite the signing of Winston, it is believed the Giants still maintain an interest in Wilson.
"Still in the mix with the Giants. He has looked at the Giants as a viable option for a while now. Despite that Winston signing, my sense is the Giants have looked at signing two free agent quarterbacks and then they can still draft one [as well]," Fowler said. "They're starting from scratch for their quarterback room."
