Manchester United receive'unusual'warning as Joshua Zirkzee transfer claim emerges

Joshua Zirkzee of Manchester United chases the ball

Joshua Zirkzee continues to be linked with a summer move away from Manchester United

Manchester United will have time to prepare for a crucial stretch of the season as the international break means they will not return to action until April 1.

Ruben Amorim's side recorded several positive results before the March internationals. The Reds drew against Arsenal before thrashing Real Sociedad in the Europa League and Leicester City in the Premier League.

United return to action next month with a tough trip away at high-flying Nottingham Forest before the Manchester derby at Old Trafford. The Reds will then travel to Lyon in the first leg of their crucial Europa League quarter-final tie.

Below are some of the latest media reports surrounding the Reds, as well as a view on each one:

'Nnusual' warning

Former Manchester City financial advisor Stefan Borson has called United's announcement over a new stadium 'unusual.'

“It’s quite unusual to make such a song and dance about a CGI video," he told Football Insider. “They said in the announcement that there’s no plans on funding, it’s all CGI, it’s going to take eight years.

“And yet, there was a song and dance. It’s early, they said it was early, and the question is then – why are you making such a big announcement on it?

“Let’s wait and see. It would be great for United and great for Manchester.

"I don’t know how they’ll fund it, but if it’s there – then great.”

Isaac Seelochan of The Manchester Evening News says: "There are still plenty of questions yet to be answered over United's new stadium plans. Once completed, it should be a fantastic boost for the club and the surrounding area, but scepticism remains high over how it will be funded."

Zirkzee claim

Joshua Zirkzee has been identified as a priority target for Napoli, according to claims by Fichajes.

It is claimed that the Dutch striker would welcome the chance to join Antonio Conte's side and make his return to Italy. However, there are yet to be any major talks between the two clubs and United’s position on the matter is said to have the biggest say on whether a move will happen.

Isaac Seelochan of The Manchester Evening News says: "Zirkzee has enjoyed a mini-redemption arc in recent weeks. However, if the Reds get a suitable offer this summer, they must be tempted to cash in and use those desperately needed funds to upgrade their attack."
