Bulls React to Historic Josh Giddey News

The Chicago Bulls have been hot lately. They had won six of their last eight games coming into Saturday when they rolled the Los Angeles Lakers, 146-115, and they seem to have hope that they can move into eighth place in the Eastern Conference, which would mean they would have to win just one play-in tournament game to make the playoffs.

Guard Coby White has been red-hot lately, and he scored 36 points on 12-of-17 shooting from the field and 6-of-9 from 3-point range on Saturday. But teammate Josh Giddey upstaged him a bit with a truly unique stat line.

He finished with 15 points, 17 assists and 10 rebounds and was just two assists shy of a quadruple-double, which is one of the most elusive statistical feats in basketball. Still, he became the first player in NBA history to record the stat line he had in this game.

Giddey had been a rising young player in three previous seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder as a wing who can both score and create for others. He was sent to Chicago last summer in a trade that brought the Thunder guard Alex Caruso.

Only four NBA players have ever achieved a quadruple-double: Nate Thurmond, Alvin Robertson, Hakeem Olajuwon and David Robinson. The last time it was done was in 1994 when Robinson had 34 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists and 10 blocks.
