Plenty of Chelsea supporters will want to see Andrey Santos back at the club next season.
Santos is currently on loan at Chelsea‘s sister club Strasbourg and is having an excellent campaign there. In 24 league appearances, the 20-year-old has scored eight goals, which is not a bad return for a midfielder.
Strasbourg manager Liam Rosenior has also been impressed with Santos this term, comparing him to Brazil legend Dunga.
From the player’s latest words, though, it does not look like it is guaranteed that he will be at Stamford Bridge next season.

Andrey Santos discusses long-term future
All the noise coming out of Chelsea suggested that Santos would be part of Enzo Maresca‘s first-team squad for the 2025/26 campaign.
For example, it was reported last month that Santos would be a key player for Maresca next term. However, the Brazilian has now claimed that no one has spoken to him yet and no decisions have been made.
In an interview with ESPN, he said: “Of course, you want to play for the biggest clubs in Europe, for a very big club like Chelsea. You dream of that moment but I think, at this moment, you have to have a clear head, finish the season here and make the best choice when the season is over.
“I don’t think that a specific decision has been made. No one has come to talk to me directly. Everything is in the hands of the club and my agents.”

For Chelsea supporters who are desperate to see Santos play at Stamford Bridge, the above is a concern.
After hearing constantly that the Brazil international will definitely be part of the first team for the 2025/26 season, that no longer seems to be a certainty.
Sporting Lisbon midfielder Dario Essugo will be joining Chelsea this summer, so that also complicates Santos’ situation.

Bayern Munich monitoring Andrey Santos
Another reason why Santos’ future looks uncertain is because of interest from other clubs.
During the January transfer window, it was claimed that Bayern Munich are tracking Santos, who is still being linked to the German giants.
From a Chelsea perspective, the Blues probably do not want to lose Santos. But they currently have Moises Caicedo, Enzo Fernandez and Romeo Lavia in their squad, while Essugo is set to link up with them in the summer.
Ultimately, there may not be any room for Santos at the Bridge, which would be a huge disappointment. He has shown so much promise this season and looks capable of bringing a lot to Maresca’s side.
