Myles Lewis-Skelly scoring on his England debut left the Arsenal academy graduate lost for words inside the Wembley Stadium tunnel afterwards.
Lewis-Skelly, aged 18 years and 176 days, became the youngest player to score in their first senior appearance for the Three Lions after firing them in front against Albania on Friday night.
Thomas Tuchel started the Islington native in his first match as head coach, and it took Lewis-Skelly just 20 minutes to score after being assisted by Jude Bellingham.
The teenager played all but the final few minutes, with Chelsea captain Reece James replacing him in the 90th minute.
But by then, Lewis-Skelly had already done enough to be named player of the match.
Speaking to a member of the England media team while walking through the Wembley tunnel area afterwards, he tried to explain how he was feeling.
"Ah, I'm lost for words, honestly," Lewis-Skelly said.
"I just wanna thank God; thank you to my team-mates and thank you to the boss [Tuchel]. So, yeah, I'm lost for words, honestly."
Lewis-Skelly continued, recalling that his celebration "was just so much relief" before reiterating: "I'm lost for words, honestly; I'm so happy, I'm so happy."
The person asking questions behind the camera then handed him the player of the match award.
"Thank you so much," Lewis-Skelly responded, shaking the interviewer's hand. "Thank you. Wow, this is amazing.
"I just want to thank you; thanks to everyone. Thanks to my team-mates for putting their trust in me because this is not possible without them."
Looking at the award, he added: "This will look nice in my room, actually."
Lewis-Skelly could have the opportunity to win another of them back at Wembley on Monday night when England play Latvia in their second of eight 2026 World Cup qualifiers this year.
