Jack Grealish is expected to be on the move from Manchester City in this coming summer transfer window - and while there has been speculation linking him with moves within the Premier League, including a return to Aston Villa, a new suitor has emerged which would give him the opportunity to experience football on the continent.
Grealish, 29, has been at City since 2021, having cost them £100m to sign him from Villa, and in that time has won huge amounts of silverware, including the treble of the Premier League, the FA Cup and the Champions League in 2023.
The playmaker has fallen out of favour, somewhat, in Pep Guardiola's squad; Grealish has struggled to nail down a regular place in City's starting XI this season and has, as a result, missed out on a place in Thomas Tuchel's England squad.
With two years still remaining of his six-year contract signed upon arrival at the Etihad Stadium, there appears to be an increasing possibility that Grealish will be moving onto pastures new this coming summer.
Newcastle United have also been linked with a move for Grealish.
The latest side to emerge are Serie A side AC Milan. They signed Grealish's City colleague Kyle Walker on loan in the summer and have tapped into the English market previously to sign the likes of Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Fikayo Tomori and Tammy Abraham.
Reports have emerged that Milan would like a similar try-before-you-buy deal which they secured with right-back Walker, who joined on a loan deal in January which runs until the end of the season.
Failing that, the Italian side believe they could persuade City to accept a permanent offer for Grealish in the region of £40m, less than half of what they paid Villa to acquire him in the first place four years ago.
Grealish scored 32 times in 213 appearances for Villa, having inspired their promotion under Dean Smith in 2019.
He then influenced their survival push at the end of the following campaign and remained a key figure in 2020-21 as the Lions posted a mid-table finish. From there, City came calling.
