Man Utd 'to sell Andre Onana to Saudis' and have two replacements lined up

Andre Onana is set to leave Manchester United and land in the Saudi Pro League at the end of the season, according to reports. Ruben Amorim is said to be eyeing two of Europe's most highly-rated young goalkeepers to replace Onana if he exits Old Trafford for the Middle East this summer.

Erik ten Hag signed the 28-year-old as David de Gea's replacement in 2023, splashing £47million after his stellar campaign for Inter Milan. But while Onana has shown glimpses of his class, he has seldom looked convincing with his shot-stopping and distribution; the latter is just as critical to Amorim as it was to his predecessor. United are now reportedly primed to cash in on their No. 24 and have already pinpointed their priority targets to succeed him.

According to The Sun, Onana looks set for a Saudi switch, and while between the sticks wasn't considered an obvious area to address this summer, Amorim would make it a priority if a firm offer arrives.

It's claimed there could be movement across Manchester, with Pep Guardiola also gearing up to lose Ederson to the Saudi Pro League.

United and Manchester City could subsequently battle for the same goalkeeper targets, and Amorim is said to have locked onto two options.

The report states that Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens is on both clubs' radar, with Newcastle United and West Ham United also circling.

The 22-year-old is believed to be available for £30million after a sensational breakout season, which recently earned him his first Belgium call-up.

Lammens has been hailed for his distribution and ability to contribute to the build-up, which are crucial traits for Amorim's vision.

The Sun report that City have made regular checks on Lammens, who is under contract in Antwerp until 2027.

Lille stopper Lucas Chevalier is also being touted as a target for both sides, having been tracked for months.

The 23-year-old has made serious waves this term and will reportedly be in the shop window for a fee in the region of £40m.

United are already preparing to enter the goalkeeper market ahead of Tom Heaton's expected exit once his contract expires in July.

Amorim may have to pursue a more established option to replace Onana, though, with Altay Bayindir considered a worthy back-up but nothing more.

The Cameroon international's departure could complicate United's summer aspirations. They need to bolster multiple positions with limited finances before player sales.

A striker is thought to be at the top of the shortlist, with reinforcements in defence, midfield, and right-wing-back also on the agenda.
