Report: David Moyes has called upon one Everton player to act as the motivational coach in the…

Everton are one of the most in form sides in the Premier League.

Since David Moyes rejoined for a second spell at the turn of the year, Everton have suffered just one defeat in 10 games.

They’re now well clear of the relegation zone and are hopeful of finishing mid-table, with European football still in reach.

11th place could be enough to secure Everton Conference League football, however, it would certainly be a longshot as there are multiple permutations.

Anyhow, Moyes just wants to end the season strongly and it’s just emerged that one of his players has been acting as a makeshift coach to motivate the dressing room.

Seamus Coleman has been a major influence behind the scenes at Everton

Coleman was often the motivator under Dyche and he’s continued in that role with the current Everton boss.

The Republic of Ireland International has been able to act as a link between the dressing room and the stands.

It’s understood the veteran defender played a key role in the comeback win against Crystal Palace earlier in the season, as he got a hold of a number of players who were in low spirits.

Clearly, once Coleman hangs up the boots, he’ll almost certainly be part of Moyes’ coaching staff.

Coleman yet to play under David Moyes

Coleman is still yet to play under Moyes in his second spell on Merseyside.

The 36-year-old has been sidelined for weeks with a calf injury but is now back and available for selection.

Coleman has been an unused substitute in the last two league games but it’s unlikely he’ll be able to displace Jake O’Brien.

O’Brien has been a fixture under Moyes and is perhaps the most improved player along with Beto, who’s finally started to find his goalscoring boots.
